Three Board of Director positions, all (3) year terms, are open due to terms that expire on March 31, 2010. The new Board of Directors will take office on April 1, 2010. The new Board of Directors will elect officers for the new Board.  Please give this opportunity your thoughtful consideration. You may become a candidate by completing the following information, and then return this letter to Brian (see email and mailing address below.  Please include a short biography (2 to 3 paragraphs) listing your qualifications and your interest in downtown Loveland and the Downtown Loveland Association. Your name must be received by March 11, 2010 to be placed on the March 18, 2010 ballot. Each candidate will have an opportunity to address the membership at the Community meeting on March 18, 2010 at 5:45 PM. Voting will start at 6:00 PM. You must be a DLA member to hold a seat on the Board of Directors.  Please also attach the following:  I, ______________________________, a member in good standing of the Downtown Loveland Association, place my name as a candidate for the Board of Directors.  Please contact Brian Jarvis at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it or POB 7535 Loveland, CO 80537 for any additional information.

We are please to announce that we have added two additional board members.   They are; Dave Clark (Clark Construction) and Mike Scholl – City of Loveland (ex officio board member).  Dave brings an extensive background in construction experience is a member of the Loveland Downtown team and former Loveland city councilor.   Mike brings us valuable city experience and is an avid supporter of the downtown.   I wish to officially welcome them both, and we will have a bio for each of them on our web site soon.

Secondly, I would like to take a few moments to talk about volunteering.  Over the next few weeks, we will be identifying volunteer opportunities within the DLA.  When that has taken place, it will be published on our web site and a letter will be sent to our membership.  Volunteering is very important again this year as we move forward on our initiatives.  However, more important than that is that you, our membership, have a clear understanding of what kind of volunteer opportunities exist, what needs will be met by you, what skills are needed and how to apply for a volunteer position, so you know exactly what you will  be doing.  That is why the exercise of an exact description of the duties is important.  Please be watching for that.

Please spend time looking at our web site www.downtownloveland.org for updates, strategic plan schedules and accomplishments and general information.  You can also use the web site to give us your input.  We welcome your input and comments, so please take the time to do that.  Thanks again for all of your support.
