There's a big hole in downtown Loveland! The Quality Shoe Store has been demolished and will make way for the construction of the "Rialto Bridge" where it used to be.
A bridge in downtown Loveland?! No, it's the “Rialto Bridge” Project! Great things are being planned for use of the vacant space adjacent to the Rialto Theater, where the former Monaco Ristorante and the Quality Shoe Store used to be. These may include a large "picture window" glass front to the adjacent building, lots of space for the theater performers, a "green" room, and a new restaurant, serving lunch and dinner, fine wines and dessert! The bridge project would make the Rialto Theater's dreams for space come true and add a lot of cachet and gathering space to our downtown.
The “Rialto Bridge” theater expansion is supported by the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado and is an example of a project through which the Community Foundation connects with donors who wish to establish a charitable legacy. For more information, read the article on page 15 in the 2010 Loveland Artsource. The City of Loveland is considering partnering with Flagstone Partners and the Community Foundation of Northern Colorado to fund this important catalyst project for downtown Loveland.
